At House of Flags, we take pride in offering a high-quality, in-house printing process that ensures your custom knitted polyester flags are produced with precision and durability in mind. All our knitted polyester custom flags are digitally printed using advanced dye sublimation printers at our Cambridgeshire headquarters.
Dye sublimation printing is the industry-standard technique for producing vivid, full-colour designs on fabric. The process involves transferring dye directly into the fibres of the 115 gsm knitted polyester.
This helps preserve the vibrancy of the colours while ensuring the material remains lightweight and flexible. The result is a flag that resists fading, even when exposed to outdoor conditions.

Our technology supports both mirror image and double-sided printing. As standard, we produce mirror image flags, meaning your design appears clearly on the front and is reversed on the back. This method offers great visual impact and durability, and it’s lighter in weight to avoid unnecessary strain on your flagpoles.
If you need your design to read correctly on both sides, we also offer double-sided printing, where the image is printed on two pieces of fabric sewn together with a light-blocking interlayer. While these flags are heavier and less durable, they’re ideal for specific applications where legibility on both sides is essential.
However, please note that double-sided flags are currently not available for purchase directly through our online shop, so you’ll need to contact our team to discuss your requirements.
From one-off orders to full branding campaigns, our printing process delivers exceptional results with short lead times. Want to order a single promotional flag or even a larger batch for an event or business? Call us today.
Installation
Installing your custom knitted polyester flag is simple, and we provide a variety of finishing options to suit different mounting needs. Whether you're attaching your flag to a traditional flagpole, wall-mounted bracket, or custom display system, we'll ensure it's finished to match your setup.
Our standard finish includes a rope and toggle, perfect for mounting onto flagpoles with halyard systems. This classic method allows for secure and easy hoisting.
For alternative displays, we also offer flags with eyelets, D-rings, or sleeves. However, please note that flags with top sleeves cannot be finished with a rope and toggle, so it's important to choose the right finish for your flagpole.

To further enhance stability and longevity, we also offer additional accessories such as flag restraints, flag collars, flag weights, and antifray options. These help prevent excessive movement and reduce wear over time, especially in outdoor or high-wind environments.
If you need assistance with flag installation, our team is here to help. From selecting the right fittings to arranging professional installation or maintenance services, we offer full support to make sure your flag is displayed proudly and securely, right from the first raise.
Printing Methods
Digitally Printed Custom Landscape Flags: We offer two professional printing methods for our custom knitted polyester flags: digital printing and screen printing. Each method is suited to different needs, depending on the size of your order, the complexity of the design, and your budget.
Ask us about our new Pollutant eating coating which we can apply to your flags!
EnhanceAir®, Powered by PURETiTM Light-activated coating that destroys air pollution.
When applied to outdoor advertising media, EnhanceAir turns any treated material into an air purifying surface that not only enhances human health, but contributes to the fight against global warming.
The coating is transparent and does not impact the appearance or durability of the ad itself.
Typically applied as the last step in the printing process.
No changes are required in the installation process.
It does not affect the recyclability of the material.
THE SCIENCE OF ENHANCEAIR: PHOTOCATALYSIS
When UVA light energy activates the coating, it starts a chemical process that turns nearby oxygen and water vapor into two powerful cleaning agents (OH-* and O2-*)
• These two cleaning agents convert pollutants into harmless minerals and gasses.
• The active mineral is a catalyst, so it is not consumed in the process. It continues to work as long as it is on the surface and has access to humidity and light.
• The process happens only at the surface and repeats constantly to clean the surface and the air that comes in contact with it.
Why NOx?
Nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2) are formed during combustion. NOx is harmful in several ways:
• It irritates airways and increases susceptibility to allergens.
• It combines with other pollutants in the air to create smog, acid rain, PM2.5 and ground level ozone, which contributes to global warming.
• Increases risk of heart disease, stroke, COPD, and lung cancer.
• It has a much higher Global Warming Potential than CO2.
NOx is an indirect greenhouse gas. It does not trap heat directly, but leads to the creation of other gases, like ozone, that are greenhouse gases. It is included on the list of gases that countries report in their greenhouse gas inventories.
EnhanceAir fights climate change and improves human health by destroying NOx and other pollutants. It helps lower the greenhouse gas footprint, but not the carbon footprint.
Proven Laboratory and Real World Results
Using a test based on the ISO 22197-1 standard, we pass a fixed amount of NOx across a treated surface where the air is in contact with the surface for only 1 second on average before being replaced by new polluted air at the same concentration. The concentration of NOx is measured as it exits the chamber.

Accepted File Formats:
Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
Encapsulated PostScript (.eps)
Portable Document Format (.pdf) - Preferred
Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg)
For our print purposes, we prefer artwork created in Adobe Illustrator and saved in a PDF format. Vector graphics are ideal as they are easy to scale and produce better print quality.
Resolution Requirements:
For Raster Images:
150 DPI at 100% of the final size
300 DPI at 50% of the final size
DPI (Dots Per Inch) measures the detail of an image. Increasing the size of a raster image can lead to blurriness or pixelation, which may not be visible on a computer screen but will show up in the final print.

Please note that currently we only offer products with a mirror image finish through our online shop. For double sided flags or more information on the difference between mirror image and double sided please get in touch.
All of our custom landscape flags are made to bespoke sizes, however, one of our most common sizes is 1m x 1.6m.
How are your custom landscape flags finished?
As standard, our custom landscape flags are finished with a rope and toggle. We can also produce custom landscape flags with a sleeve or eyelets.
What is the difference between mirror imaged and double sided custom landscape flags?
A mirror image flag means the ink has bled through the material so your design can be seen from both sides. A double sided flag has the design printed on two pieces of fabric, sewn together with an interlayer in between.
Can you help with the design of the flag?
Yes, we’ve designed and printed millions of flags for some of the world’s biggest brands. Our in-house design team can create a design to your specifications.
