The flag of the Irish rugby team features a vibrant green backdrop adorned with the shields of the four provinces along with an emblem of Irish Rugby Football. This flag is proudly waved at matches held outside of Ireland. When the team competes in Northern Ireland, particularly at Ravenhill, the Flag of Ulster, which has a distinctive yellow background, is also displayed.
Representing the entire island of Ireland, the national rugby union team takes part in the annual Six Nations Championship. They have a remarkable history, having clinched the title outright twelve times and shared it on eight occasions.
