Baner Cymru or Ddraig Goch, meaning the red dragon, is the flag of Wales. The flag was first granted official status in 1959 and is a red dragon passant on a green and white field. The colours represent the Tudor colour and the red dragon of Cadwaladr represents the King of Gwynedd. Many cities include the flag in their design including Cardiff the capital of Wales. 

The red dragon has long been associated with wales however its origin has been lost in history and myth however is believed to have originated from Celtic/Romano monarchy.
